This huge celebration is known as the national day of Cornwall, and is named after the Patron Saint of Tin Miners, St Piran. Locations all across the county commemorate this event with festivals featuring local businesses where you can enjoy delicious food, find unique items to purchase, and can embrace all things Cornwall. While the official day is 5th March every year, many activities usually happen on the nearest weekend to this.

Redruth – Saturday 7th March 2026
Redruth always hold a fantastic celebration for St. Piran’s Day each year! The streets of Redruth will come alive with live performances from local musicians and artists, food vans and stalls selling a wide array of products made by Cornish businesses! Later that same day, there will be a procession throughout the town.
Helston – Saturday 7th March 2026
Helston plays host to a family-friendly lantern procession to celebrate St. Piran’s Day. The lanterns are made by local artists and children from the surrounding areas. You are more than welcome to bring along your own lantern provided that it is disposed of correctly after the procession.
Truro – Thursday 5th March 2026
Held on the official day of St Piran, Truro’s annual Parade is set to start on Lemon Quay and finish at High Cross. Be sure to take in the window displays of the local businesses as there is always a competition that will be judged by Deputy Mayor of Truro, Loic Rich, alongside Truro’s Town Crier, Lionel Knight.
Bude
Bude will be celebrating the patron saint of Cornwall by holding their annual St. Piran’s Day Walk! Led by the Piper, this circular group walk commences from Bude S.L.S.C (Surf Life Saving Club) and heads towards the beautiful Summerleaze beach! Once you have walked back towards the surf club
